Treat the kids to a day out this half-term – after weeks of exams and revision, don’t you think they have earned a little excursion?

The May half-term is the final break before the end of the academic year. Schools have just finished their exams for another year and the kids can sit back and relax…as much as they can before results day, away!

Why not reward them for their efforts through a busy and stressful period with a hire car and head out for the day? With a set of wheels, there are endless opportunities for a memorable family day out.

Visit Cambridge

In Cambridge, there are loads of activities that the kids will enjoy, whether that involves heading to one of the museums located in the historic city or just heading to the shops for a spot of retail therapy. Trinity Street is where you will find many of the city’s best shops – you might just be glad you opted for car hire in Cambridge to save you from carrying piles of bags.

One of the most popular reasons to visit Cambridge is for the city’s array of restaurants with famous names such as Marco Pierre White and Cotto present among other delicious drop-ins dotted around.

Visit Ipswich

If a contrast of modern times mixed with old charm is more your family’s taste then Ipswich will be perfect. A firm favourite for those travelling with children is the Alton Water Sports Centre, located on Suffolk’s largest reservoir. Here you can learn to sail, kayak or windsurf – perfect with the weather warming up!

Once you have dried off, why not head on over to Jimmy’s Farm, which is a short 15-minute drive up the A137. At the farm, families can enjoy an array of different activities and regular festivals.

Visit Peterborough

Peterborough is home to Queensgate Shopping Centre, located in the city centre, which is packed with some of the country’s most recognisable shops. Also, you will find that the city has a large Italian community, and that is best represented by an array of restaurants with Italian recipes.

On the outskirts of Peterborough, you will find a welcoming town called Stamford, where you will find the world famous Burghley House where you can easily spend an afternoon looking around. Hiring a car in Peterborough will make your journey all the more pleasant.

If none of these options tickles your fancy for a day out, then that is fine, too. With car hire, you can travel to wherever you please – the road is yours for the taking.

Great Service! Great Guys! I have rented from other companies in the past and had mixed experiences with them. I have shown up for a rental and they didn’t have a vehicle for me. I have been overcharged. You name it! I rent vehicles all the time for my band. These guys were prompt and courteous.

This is the 3rd time I've hired from Global and I love the experience. The staff are wonderful and go above and beyond to be helpful. The 1st time we only had 2 of us in the car. The 2nd time there was four and this time 5. We might need a bus next time, lol. I've hired from 2 different companies in Cambridge before and they were a total pain to deal with. You guys make the whole experience easy and I am very grateful, thanks!

A couple of weeks ago I had to rent a 17-passenger van for the film crew that I work with. I was served by your Ipswich office to get the reservation completed at very short notice (the day before pickup). They were really helpful and friendly and ensured that the process went smoothly. I’m really happy to have found you guys as we plan on working in your area a lot over the next two years, and will definitely be renting vans again! Best wishes!
